‘I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become’
Carl Jung

The process of therapy is not a mystery, it is a straightforward witnessing, heart to heart, between therapist and client. It is a journey from woundedness to connectedness.

My personal experience of the value of psychotherapy led me to want to train as a therapist. My life has taught me that the times of greatest difficulty are opportunities for real transformation. If we feel safe enough to unravel our story and have the courage to acknowledge the patterns of behaviour that once served us well but now hold us back, our relationships can begin to thrive. Becoming conscious of how we are in the world and how patterns of behaviour may have prevented us from growing is the key to living a fuller and more authentic life.

The most successful therapy hinges on the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. I believe the key to a positive outcome is creating the spaciousness required for whatever emerges in the session. My role is to be present with you, with compassion, in whatever experience you bring. You need to be truly heard, without judgement and at your own pace. I aim to create a calm and safe environment in which you can unpick what has led you to this point.

Our interior life is fundamental to how we perceive the world and determines how we react to changes beyond our control. None of us can alter reality, but we can choose how we engage with it. When we make shifts in our interior world, we can attract a different kind of reality and there can be lasting change. The therapist holds the potential for you to be your true self, free of anxiety and depression and able to live life to the full. The aim of therapy is for you to become your own therapist, to hold the widest possible perspective on your own life.

About me
I am a fully qualified integrative transpersonal psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have a diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (2003) from C.C.P.E. (Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, Beauchamp Lodge, Warwick Crescent, London W26NE) and an M.A. in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy (De Montfort university 2004).

Transpersonal psychotherapy is an integrative counselling and psychotherapeutic approach which includes behaviourism, psychodynamic and humanistic psychologies but also acknowledges the spiritual potential of human beings. I have a particular interest in spiritual direction.

My training allows me to meet your individual needs by drawing on a range of therapeutic perspectives: person-centred and humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, family and systemic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT), mindfulness and transpersonal psychotherapy. I also use creative imagination and dreamwork.

I work with a wide range of difficulties such as relationship issues, bereavement (recent and in the past), addictive behaviours, low self-esteem, feelings of worthlessness and emptiness. Often people come to therapy experiencing low-grade depression and anxiety and a desire to search for meaning. Healing begins when we acknowledge that we need to truly give ourselves space to reflect on our life and take the first step on that journey.

What to expect
In the first session we will look at what brings you to therapy at this time in your life. You will have the opportunity to ask me about the process and to think about what you hope to gain.

You can then think about whether you want to continue and if I am the right therapist for you. I offer short-term and long-term therapy, although the latter is recommended if you want to explore long-standing issues.

Sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes. I charge £80 a session.

I see clients in N10 (nearest underground Highgate) or online.
